Stipendijní program pro zájemce o roční studium v Německu

22.03.2012 13:38

Dear Czech Student Association,

we´d like to bring to your attention the “Call for applications 2012/13” of the Studienkolleg zu Berlin, a scholarship programme which could be a very interesting option for those Czech students who plan to spend a year in Germany. The Studienkolleg brings together European students to Berlin to discuss and work on the future of Europe. In 2012 we are happy to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the program.

The Studienkolleg zu Berlin is a joint initiative of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German National Academic Foundation) and the Hertie Foundation, supported by the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin and the Berlin Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. By means of this programme, the two foundations and partner institutions want to strengthen the „European dimension“ in the thinking of young people on whose decisions the future shape of Europe is likely to depend. To this end, the Studienkolleg zu Berlin invites thirty excellent students from all over Europe to spend one year in Berlin. Apart from studying at one of the universities in Berlin or Brandenburg, the participants attend lectures and seminars on topics related to European history, culture and politics. The core module of the college year is a project on current issues relating to European themes on which small teams of participants cooperate during the entire year. The Studienkolleg’s working language is German.

Do you know students at your university who might be interested in our programme? We would be pleased to receive their applications for the next academic year which will start in September 2012 and end in July 2013. Fellows of the programme will receive a monthly scholarship of € 650 as well as lump sum of € 1.000 for their travel expenses.

Kindly notice that applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • current academic student (of any discipline)
  • completion of basic studies (in at the least third year of study  in one discipline, no Ph.D. students)
  • up to 28 years old
  • excellent academic achievements
  • strong interest in European issues
  • ability to work in a team and willingness to do intensive project work
  • all candidates have to apply independently for a place at a university in Berlin or Brandenburg

Enclosed you will find the official CfA, the flyer and a poster with further information on the Studienkolleg. We´d be very grateful if you could pass them on to interested students in your country.

Closing date for applications is 1 April 2012. The application form can be downloaded from our homepage: www.studienkolleg-zu-berlin.de. Please note, that it will suffice to complete the online application until 1 April; letters of recommendation can be handed in later in the month.

If you have any questions on the programme or the application process, please don’t hesitate to get back to us. Thank you very much in advance for your support!

Yours sincerely,

Klara Sucher
